The Death Road or better known as the World’s Most Dangerous Road, is one of the most popular places in the world to ride on mountain bike. This epic adventure starts above the clouds at 4,700 meters, then winds it’s way down an incredible road passing through clouds, under waterfalls, through streams and by spectacular viewpoints down to the high jungle of the lush Amazon, all the way down to 1,100 meters. At the bottom we enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in our jungle lodge, where we can also take hot showers and enjoy our private pool, before heading back to La Paz in our private transport. With over 3,500 meters of descent on this incredible 64 km road, you can see whay so many of our riders consider this one of the best days of their South American trip, and why it is considered one of the best mountain bike rides in the world!

After a nice snack, we have another safety briefing before starting on the old road. No more tarmac, we are now on the Death Road! This narrow ledge of a road winds it’s way through some of the most stunning scenery in the world. And though it’s dangerous, we give you all the instruction and equipment you need to make it down safely and comfortably
After several stops with breathtaking views and great photo opportunities we reach the San Juan Waterfalls. Here we’ll have another snack. This stunning viewpoint not only offers a great spot for some photos of these spectacular waterfalls, but we also get the chance to ride through them! From here the sections of the ride get longer and there are parts where we can ride a bit faster if you want to. If not, there’s no rush, you go as fast as you feel comfortable going.
After the last few sections, which include awesome river crossings, we reach the end of this remarkable ride! Look around! Your in the jungle! And it’s hard to imagine that just earlier in the morning we were high up in the mountains.
We drive back up the road, where you get to see all the views you may have missed while riding, and our guides get to tell you all the scary stories you didn’t want to hear on the way down. When we get to La Paz, we drop you off near your hostel/hotel.
You head out to tell all your mates at the bar about one of the most amazing days that life has to offer!
